About TIMKEN
The Timken Company is an American bearing manufacturer incorporated in 1899 in St. Louis as The Timken Roller Bearing Axle Company, following Henry Timken's 1898 patent for an improved tapered roller bearing. The company moved to Canton, Ohio in 1901 to be near the emerging automotive and steel industries and is today headquartered in North Canton, Ohio.
Tapered roller bearings remain Timken's signature product, based on the cup-and-cone design that distributes load evenly to reduce friction. The company has grown into a global supplier of engineered bearings, reporting 4.6 billion US dollars in sales in 2024, with more than 19,000 employees operating from 45 countries.
Timken bearings are specified in automotive, rail, mining, construction, energy and general industrial applications where combined radial and thrust loads must be carried reliably.
