NTN Corporation is a Japanese bearing manufacturer whose origins date to 1918, when 21-year-old engineer Jiro Nishizono founded Nishizono Ironworks in Kuwana, Mie Prefecture, and began producing ball bearings. Products have been made and sold under the NTN name since 1923, and the company was the first bearing manufacturer to receive the Deming Prize for quality.
NTN manufactures a full range of rolling bearings, including deep groove ball bearings and spherical, tapered, cylindrical and needle roller bearings, as well as bearing units. It is also Japan's principal manufacturer of constant-velocity joints, a natural extension of its bearing business. In the Americas, NTN additionally markets the BCA and Bower bearing brands.
NTN bearings and driveline components are used in automobiles, railway cars, construction machinery, aircraft, medical equipment and steel manufacturing equipment.
