About KOYO

Koyo is the long-established bearing brand of JTEKT Corporation of Japan. The brand traces back to Koyo Seiko, founded by Zenichiro Ikeda in Osaka in 1921, which began producing its own Koyo-branded bearings by 1935. In 2006 Koyo Seiko merged with Toyoda Koki to form JTEKT, and in 2022 JTEKT unified its global product brands under the JTEKT name, although the Koyo marking remains widespread on bearings in service worldwide.

The Koyo bearing program covers deep groove ball bearings, angular contact ball bearings, cylindrical, tapered, spherical and needle roller bearings, plus bearing units, housings and seals. Notable engineering achievements include the world's first ceramic bearings in 1984 and the EXSEV series for extreme environments such as high-temperature, corrosive and vacuum conditions.

Koyo and JTEKT bearings are used extensively in automotive applications, machine tools and general industrial machinery.
