About FAG
FAG is a German bearing brand whose history begins in Schweinfurt, where Friedrich Fischer designed a ball grinding machine in 1883 that made it possible to produce hardened steel balls in large quantities to a uniform size. That invention is widely regarded as the foundation of the modern rolling bearing industry, and the FAG name derives from Fischers Automatische Gussstahlkugelfabrik. Since the takeover of FAG Kugelfischer in 2001, the brand has been part of the Schaeffler Group.
The FAG portfolio covers deep groove ball bearings, angular contact ball bearings, cylindrical roller bearings, spherical roller bearings, tapered roller bearings, and housed bearing units. Selected products are offered in Schaeffler's X-life quality grade, which denotes higher dynamic load ratings and longer rating life than conventional designs.
FAG bearings are used in automotive, aerospace, and a broad range of industrial machinery, from gearboxes and electric motors to heavy process equipment.
