Allen-Bradley Catalog Number Decoder

Enter an Allen-Bradley / Rockwell catalog number and we'll identify the product line — ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, PowerFlex, PanelView and more — and flag the discontinued ones.

Allen-Bradley parts are identified by a catalog number that starts with a bulletin number — the leading digits that tell you the product family. 1756 is ControlLogix, 1769 is CompactLogix, 25B is a PowerFlex 525. Type your number above, then request a quote and we'll source it — including obsolete SLC 500, PLC-5 and MicroLogix parts.

Frequently asked questions

What is a bulletin number?

It's the leading part of an Allen-Bradley catalog number that identifies the product family — for example 1756 (ControlLogix), 1769 (CompactLogix), or 25B (PowerFlex 525). Recognizing the bulletin is the fastest way to know what a part is.

What does the rest of the catalog number mean?

After the bulletin, letters and digits describe the specific module, rating and I/O count (e.g. 1756-L71 is a ControlLogix controller; 1769-IF8 is an 8-channel analog input). A trailing series letter (A/B/C) marks hardware revisions that can affect firmware compatibility — quote the full number including the series.

Which lines are obsolete?

SLC 500 (1746/1747), PLC-5 (1785/1771) and most MicroLogix are end-of-life or discontinued; they typically migrate to CompactLogix (1769) or ControlLogix (1756). We still source the legacy parts to keep existing systems running.
