About WOODWARD
Woodward, Inc. is a United States manufacturer of control system solutions for engines and turbines. The company traces its origins to 1870, when founder Amos Woodward patented a mechanical waterwheel governor in Rockford, Illinois. Over the following decades it moved into governors for hydraulic turbines, diesel engines and aircraft propellers, and from the 1950s onward into analog and later digital electronic controls. Known for most of its history as Woodward Governor Company, it adopted the name Woodward, Inc. in 2011.
The industrial product range covers speed governors and digital controls for steam and gas turbines and reciprocating engines, together with actuators and fuel-control valves. Lines familiar to industrial buyers include the UG series mechanical-hydraulic universal governors, the 505 digital control for steam turbines, TG and TM electrohydraulic actuators, and the MicroNet control platform.
Woodward equipment is applied in power generation, marine propulsion, oil and gas, and aerospace.
