Leuze electronic is a German sensor manufacturer founded on January 1, 1963, by Helmut, Christof, and Adolf Leuze in Owen, in southern Germany, where the company is still based. Starting with a small team building optical sensors in part of a former weaving mill, it grew into an internationally active specialist in optoelectronic sensor technology, known by the tagline 'the Sensor People'.
The portfolio includes switching and measuring photoelectric sensors, inductive proximity sensors, safety devices such as the MLC series safety light curtains, and identification systems including the BCL series stationary barcode readers with integrated fieldbus connectivity.
