About KUNKLE

KUNKLE is an American safety and relief valve brand whose history dates to 1875, when Erastus B. Kunkle patented a lock-up pop safety valve developed from his work on steam locomotives, entering valve manufacturing with his brother-in-law the following year. Today Kunkle Valve operates as a brand of Emerson.

The line concentrates on bronze and cast iron safety and relief valves for steam, air, liquids (including cryogenic service) and non-hazardous gases. Recognized products include the Series 6000 safety relief valves, Models 19 and 20 liquid relief valves, and the 541/542/548 series. Most Kunkle valves carry relief capacities certified by the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors and are set and tested to the API 527 standard for seat tightness.

Typical applications include boilers, compressed air systems, pumps and general industrial and commercial pressure equipment requiring overpressure protection.
