About KTR
KTR Systems is a German drive technology manufacturer headquartered in Rheine, in the Münsterland region. The company was founded in 1959 by Franz Tacke as Kupplungstechnik GmbH, initially to develop and market the BoWex curved-tooth gear coupling, which combined nylon and steel in a maintenance-free design. It remains a family-owned group with a global presence and more than 1,100 employees.
Core product lines include the ROTEX torsionally flexible jaw coupling and the BoWex curved-tooth gear coupling, both long-established names among industrial buyers. The wider program covers torque limiters, brakes, cooling systems and hydraulic components for mechanical drive systems.
