Kraus & Naimer is an Austrian switchgear manufacturer founded in Vienna in 1907 by Franz Kraus and Lorenz Naimer and trading under the Kraus & Naimer name since 1909. The company started with knife switches and in 1948 introduced the first cam switch in modular design, the C15. It remains family-run, with production sites in Austria, Germany, Hungary, Brazil, the USA and New Zealand.
The core program consists of modular cam switches and rotary switches used as control switches, changeover switches, motor switches and load-break or disconnect switches. Well-known lines include the CA10 and CA20 cam switches in the 10 to 25 ampere class and the larger CAD, CA and C types rated up to 315 A, alongside very compact designs such as the CA4N.
Its switches are used in control panels, machine building, motor control and instrumentation across general industry.
