About KITAGAWA

Kitagawa Iron Works Co., Ltd. is a Japanese manufacturer founded in 1918, known internationally for machine tool workholding sold under the Kitagawa brand. The company entered the machine tool accessory field in 1937 and introduced its first power chuck in 1967; Kitagawa power chucks have since become one of the most widely used clamping systems in CNC turning and account for a majority share of Japan's domestic market.

The workholding program includes standard and specialized power chucks, rotary hydraulic cylinders, NC rotary tables for machining centers, machine vices and work grippers, together with peripheral equipment for turning centers and vertical machining centers. The NC rotary table line, developed as CNC machining spread in the 1970s and 1980s, allows components to be indexed or rotated automatically during milling.

Kitagawa products are used throughout metal-cutting industries on CNC lathes and machining centers, supported by sales and service offices across global markets.
