About Kerb-Konus
Kerb-Konus is a German fastener manufacturer founded in 1946 in Bielefeld on the initiative of Dr. Carl H. Eibes. The business later relocated to Bavaria, first to Schnaittenbach and then in 1970 to a new plant in Amberg, where Kerb-Konus-Vertriebs-GmbH develops and produces threaded inserts and fastening elements today.
The company's best-known product is the patented Ensat self-tapping threaded insert, a bushing with external and internal threads and cutting slots or cutting bores that taps its own thread as it is screwed into a pre-drilled hole. Variants such as Ensat-S and Ensat-SB are specified for metals, plastics and wood. The range also includes fasteners for thin sheet metal, among them Clifa self-clinching press-in nuts.
Kerb-Konus inserts are used throughout the metal and plastics processing industries to create durable, load-bearing threads in light alloys, plastics and other soft materials.
