About KEENSERT

KEENSERT is a brand of key-locking threaded inserts used to create strong, permanent threads in softer materials and to repair damaged threads. The trademark is held today by Howmet Aerospace, the brand having previously belonged to Arconic and, before that, Alcoa Fastening Systems.

Keensert inserts are solid, one-piece bushings that are screwed into a tapped hole, after which locking keys are driven into the parent material to mechanically lock the insert against rotation and back-out under vibration. The line includes commercial-grade and mil-spec inserts as well as stud versions, and it is frequently compared with wire thread inserts as a solid-bodied alternative.

Keensert products are widely used in aerospace, defense, and general industrial assembly and repair work.
