About JOHN CRANE
John Crane is a manufacturer of engineered sealing and rotating equipment technologies, founded in Chicago in 1917 as Crane Packing Co. The company is today a subsidiary of the British engineering group Smiths Group and is one of the oldest names in mechanical sealing.
Its product portfolio centers on mechanical seals for pumps and compressors, including the Type 28 dry gas seal family introduced in 1976, which became a widely adopted standard for gas-handling turbomachinery. John Crane also supplies seal support systems, couplings, hydrodynamic bearings, filtration systems and artificial lift equipment, together with related aftermarket services.
