Weidmüller is a German manufacturer of industrial connectivity and electronics, with roots going back to a company founded in 1850 near Chemnitz that originally produced textiles and fasteners. Re-established in Detmold in 1948, it shifted to electrical connection technology and in the same year launched terminal blocks made of thermoset plastic. Today it remains a family-owned group headquartered in Detmold, active in more than 80 countries.
The portfolio includes terminal blocks, PCB and heavy-duty connectors, relays, power supplies, electronics housings and automation products. Industrial buyers know the Klippon Connect terminal block range, the PUSH IN wire connection system introduced in 2005 and the newer SNAP IN connection system launched in 2021.
Weidmüller products are used in panel building, machine building, process industry, energy and transportation applications.
