SCHMERSAL is a German manufacturer of switchgear for machine safety, founded in 1945 in Wuppertal, where the group remains headquartered. The company concentrates on safety switching and monitoring technology for protecting people and machines, and in 1969 it developed an early contactless magnetic safety switch. Today the group runs production plants on three continents and is represented in more than 60 countries.
The product range covers safety switches with separate actuator such as the AZ series, solenoid interlocks in the AZM family (including the AZM40, AZM201, AZM300 and AZM400), electronic safety sensors of the CSS line and SRB safety relay modules, alongside position switches, emergency-stop devices and safety controllers.
