Hirose Electric Co., Ltd. is a Japanese manufacturer of electrical and electronic connectors, founded in Tokyo in 1937 as Hirose Manufacturing; it adopted the Hirose Electric name in 1963 and began selling internationally in 1968. The company is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, generates the majority of its revenue outside Japan, and operates factories in Japan, China, Korea, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Hirose's catalog covers tens of thousands of connector products, including board-to-board, FPC, circular, card edge, fiber optic, sealed and high-speed data connectors. Among its best-known lines is the U.FL series of miniature surface-mount coaxial connectors, widely used for antenna connections in Wi-Fi and other RF equipment.
Hirose connectors are used in telecommunications, consumer electronics, industrial equipment, automotive, and medical devices.
